He will be DEEPLY missed

LeRoy, my father-in-law, passed away this morning.  He had been fighting cancer and was undergoing treatment for stem-cell transplant at a clinic in Ohio.  Unexpectedly, he passed away early this morning and we are all left in shock.  How does it happen that a loved one passes so quickly and they are gone?  No warning.  I mean I know HOW it happens, but it hurts so much.  No more hugs, pats on the shoulder, kind words, and precious moments watching him with his grandchildren.  He showed me the heart of God in a wonderful way that only he could and I will miss him deeply.  I am honored to have known him and to have had my children call him their grandpa.  He loved his grandchildren and their world will now be different without him.  Very sad.

This will be a very hard week for my husband and his family and I wish I could lighten their burden.  This has brought back memories and feelings of what I went through almost two years ago and I don’t care for any of it.  Honestly.

You know I tell you every now and then to love and hug on your family?  I know it is easy to say but this is why.  In a moment, things change forever and all we are left with is memories.  WONDERFUL memories.

I’m sorry that this is such a sad post but my heart is breaking and I want to share about this loss and take time to honor him in some little way.

We loved you Leroy (Bob/Dad/Grandpa) VERY, VERY much.  You will be deeply missed!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

No, I don’t have pictures up yet from North Carolina but I will, eventually.  : )  I know you just can’t wait to see them!!  I know.    I don’t have that many so don’t go getting all excited about it.

Headed out early tomorrow (7:00 a.m.) to go  pick blueberries with family.  This should be interesting!  You know I’ll tell you all about it whether you want to know or not.

What a beginning

My wonderful husband must have seen that look in my eyes this morning of – please don’t leave me alone ALL day today.  He took off to work, so I thought, and returned a short time later with this for me!  Yes, the girls got a donut also but this is about ME.  : )  Isn’t this decadent?  Ooh, la, la.  What a wonderful way to start the day.  I am currently crashing from my sugar rush.  No lie.  I feel like taking a nap.  Anyway, I love my husband and that he thought of me this morning.

I loved being alone this weekend on my “business” trip.  It was amazing!  Every part of it was fabulous and I shall write a separate post and share some pictures.  It was also fun to come home and see two little faces and one handsome face smiling at me.  That was VERY fun.   More about that later.

We have been spending quite a bit of time in, at, and around the pool.  Pool?  HA!  It is a plastic pool about five feet across and sits on our deck.  It is perfect for my little girls and I don’t have to put on a swimming suit, which is just PERFECT!  I don’t even own one, truth be told.  No lie.   We even have a little play slide that goes into the pool and they think it is lots of fun!  They don’t need to know there are much bigger and fancier pools yet.  Really.  DON’T YOU DARE TELL THEM!

Ok, so I guess they might know about other pools since we went to a “real” pool yesterday at my sister’s home.  I learned that my youngest one, Ashley, has NO fear of water.  At 20 months of age, she enjoys the water more than my four year old.  She didn’t want pool toys or anything.  Just give that girls a pair of water wings and watch her go.  I’m going to have to keep my eyes on her all the time!!!!

You enjoy your day and I’ll be back to share about my trip to North Carolina.  It seems like a year ago that I went and it has only been four days.  :::sigh:::

Making beads like CRAZY

In a few days I'm headed to North Carolina and I'm taking beads and jewelry with me to share with unsuspecting people. I'm looking forward to the trip but I'm also a little nervous about traveling that far by myself. I know, I'm a little silly but still....

Here is a beauty that you should check out. It is a necklace that I just completed as a custom design for three sisters who are giving this necklace to their sister for her 75th birthday! I think she will love it!

I'll check back in when I return. I just wanted you to know that I'm still here but I have been working on making beads and working on custom designs.

Enjoy your Father's Day weekend!

Dazzler

Good morning!  I thought I would share a custom order that I did for a 2009 graduate.  Oh to be that young again.   :::sigh:::  We incorporated a few charms that made this a sentimental piece to remember this special year in her life.  Go here to see more.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA The weather has been wonderful here and we have been outside every day playing and getting wet in one way or another.  A $5.00 slip-n-slide has been a great, cheap toy for the girls but I have to tell you, they don’t slide on it.  :::giggle::: They just walk on it and then jump into the little pool at the end of the slide.   Mind you, I haven’t put on my swimming suit to show them how to do it properly either.  Not gonna’ happen either. : )  Let me tell you, EVERYONE will be thankful for that choice.

Have a great day!

Silly stuff today

So I haven't been able to figure out how to load my videos (still working on that) so I'm sharing a video from YouTube. Hang in there because it is slow to start but I think it is amazing to watch someone play a flute that way.

Oh, and if the video isn't your cup of tea, try this game called NomNomNom4Fud. You pull the cats tail to launch it.

Have fun!

Pet Peeves

Now bear in mind these are MY pet peeves so don’t get all upset if you don’t agree with my thoughts.  LOL

  • Grocery carts - when people leave grocery carts right next to the cart corral OR very near it OR if they leave their cart right in the middle of a good parking space.  You know what I mean?  I don’t know why but it gets me all worked up.  I know, I know, there are bigger items to be concerned about it life, but hopefully someone else out there agrees with me on cart courtesy.
  • The ice cream truck that blares the music so loud you have to cover your ears,  point with your elbows to make your selection, and then pay with the money you stashed in your teeth.  (No, I don’t really put it IN my mouth!  My daughter does.  ha ha  Had you going, didn’t I?)    It frustrates me that it comes down our street at the most inappropriate times, like nap time.  What is up with that?  Don’t they know children sleep during the afternoon?  Yes, I am thankful that an ice cream truck even comes down our street.  I know.
  • When baggers at the grocery store put all your very heavy items in ONE plastic bag.  You know what happens.  I shan’t bother you with the details.
  • When there is NO toilet paper in a public restroom.  AGH!  Or how about when there are only shreds of toilet paper left on a roll.  What am I supposed to do with THAT?

I’ll stop now because you might think that I like to gripe or complain but maybe some day I’ll jot down a few more.  Do any of you have some good pet peeves?  Surely you do!
