Open House…..yeah….well…..

You know how some times “something” has to give?  Well this year the something was my Open House.  I had made pieces and didn’t edit them and put them on the website because I honestly spent my time working on custom pieces for Christmas for my customers.  My custom pieces take priority over Open House as I’m sure you can  understand.  My apologies.  I put three pieces up that I had made and can ship them on 12/20/10 if anyone is interested in purchasing a bracelet for Christmas.  It will arrive on the 22nd or 23rd.

I have another one I’m still working on editing.  The colors are plum colors.

We’ve been visiting with family this weekend and have eaten so much food and hopefully burned off the calories consumed by swimming in the swimming pool, but I doubt it.  Oh well.  Enjoy life!  We’ve laughed and had a fabulous time just being together.

Winds of Change

I feel it.  The winds of change are blowing and I’m ready to start changing things again.  I’m starting with little things.  To you it may seem little (well it IS), but I just wish I had thought of this sooner.  I’ve had “toddler” bowls and cups for a long time now and I’m retiring them for MANY reasons.  Mostly I’m tired of the color fights in the morning.  They fight over who gets which color for a bowl or cup.  DONE!  DONE!  DONE!

movingup

I went to a store to find cheaper bowls and brought these cream colored ones home.  Ran them through the dishwasher and found they are Ikea bowls under the tag.  That was a surprise!  Now we don’t fight over bowls and I have a big glass for the big girl, and a little glass for the little girl so they know which one is theirs.  AHHHHHH……peace.

Next I’m going to tackle my website and blog and things related to my business.  I’ll tackle that at the beginning of the new year though.  I don’t have the time now but I feel the wind blowing.  It could also be the wind from outside.  It is 28 degrees outside right now and snowing.  No, it is just me getting ready for changes.  oh joy!

The Open House or whatever I’m going to name it will be up this week.  Working on it!

Doesn’t anyone have names to submit?  Sparkle Sale?  Cyber Christmas?  Shop till you drop?  Throw them out there gals.

Enjoy the ride, eh?

So, I’ve been busy and so have all of you.  What else is new, right?  Right.  I just thought I’d share with you what I thought was humorous tonight.  I tucked the children into bed and came down to work on my orders and this…Workspace

is the sight I came upon when I walked into the room!

Now who could have possibly done this?  Not me???  NO WAY!  I leave things nice and tidy and ready for me to work when I return.  Can I tell you that this just made me chuckle.  Really?  Now I have to clean up before I can work.

Workspace2

There is even a little Christmas berry on my desk that I have no idea how it got there.  Hmmmmm?????

Apparently my workspace isn’t the ONLY thing that looks crazy like it needs some attention.  My daughter gave me this picture she drew today and told me this is me! Great!  I think she meant it as a compliment. : )

Even a 5 year old knows when I look a mess.  giggle.  What am I holding?  An ice cream cone?  I run around with those ALL of the time.  ha!  Isn’t it precious though?

PictureofMe

What am I doing though, really.  I’m busy working on custom orders  and the open house is um….well…happening eventually ladies.  My ducks aren’t in a row this year.  As a matter of fact, there is not even a duck in sight!!!  Darn ducks!

Does anyone need to still shop for Mother’s Day?  Maybe this would be a great option for your mom or someone else in your life.  I also offer gift certificates if anyone would like to send a gift certificate.  I can mail it directly to you or to an alternate address.

I’ll be back

IMG_0339

We had a wonderful Christmas and I’m always so sad when all of the festivities are over.  I don’t know why, but I am.  Does anyone else ever feel that way?  I took down the tree and all of the decorations today because I won’t be able to do it later, or at least for a while.  I’m having surgery tomorrow to move my ulnar nerve so I’ll be out of commission for a while.  I’ll be glad to stop the frustrating discomfort and look forward to being better.  So for now, I’m signing off and wish all of you a Happy New Year!  Can you believe it is going to be 2010?  Not me!

Full of Adventure

Someone (I can’t name names because this is a surprise), who has lived a most adventurous life, is receiving a custom bracelet this year for Christmas from her friends.  Oh, what wonderful stories she has of her adventures and trips I am told!  She is “Full of Adventure” and is still going strong and she is 70+ years old.  I hope to have wonderful tales to tell as the years go by of places I have been able to see and adventures I have been able to share with my loved ones.   Anyone else have big (or small) dreams that you hope to fulfill?  I want to travel to New Zealand first and then Italy and then France.  I can dream!

It is almost time

OpenHouseBanner

Did you forget?  Well this is your reminder that tonight  at 8:00 EST, I’ll put the link up on my website to the open house.  I’ve been working, working, working to get everything ready and I just worked through the night editing photos and building the pages.  Surprisingly, I’m alert!  It could be the coffee!

I’d love for you to come back tonight.  Stop in for a visit online and leave a comment, make a purchase or two or three, or send me an email to let me know you visited.  I’ll be around tonight.

Have a good Monday!

Who flipped my switch?

I haven’t had energy or any spunk in weeks, no, more like months but today…I have energy!  Who flipped my switch while I was sleeping?  I have LOTS to do today and look forward to tackling my to do list.  How about you?  Do you have energy and feel chipper?

Just a reminder that my Christmas Open House is coming up in a few weeks!  I’m busy, busy, busy, making lampwork lovelies!

Binge Blogger

Would that be an appropriate title?  I seem to binge blog.  I have a whole bunch of days or even weeks where I make the time to blog and then a really bad dry spell hits. Eek!  Sorry my devoted followers.  I’m boring as of late!  Sick children, working part-time, and taking care of the home and business after hours seems to have kept me busy.  For some reason I’m especially tired these past few weeks.  Whah, whah.  I hear you. : )

I dream of a day when I am able to take a WHOLE DAY and work on my designs floating around in my head.  AH!  For now I’m working on custom orders (which I LOVE) and will start working again on the upcoming Christmas open house.  Yippee!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Right now I have beads on the mandrels and they are waiting to be made into designs so I’ll do that tonight after the breathing treatments are over and the tissues have been put away for the night.

How are you all doing?  Enjoying the changing of the weather and the colors?  I’m trying.  Really trying to enjoy it!  So many of you do enjoy this time of year that I must be missing something.

Oh, I forgot to ask, does anyone like the pets on the blog?  I think they are silly and something fun.  Don’t forget to help me feed them.

Catching Up

Yes, I am still here. I know, I know, I haven't been blogging much lately. Sorry. I have been busy with this and that. Life. You know how that goes. One day slips into the next, and then more of them slip away and before you know it, a week or two have gone by in a blink. How does that work anyway? I can only imagine how time will fly in the years to come. It is going quickly NOW and I hear it seems to speed up as the years pass. aaahhhh!

Here is a necklace that I worked on for some time with a customer who wanted to give this to her daughter at her college graduation party. I was thrilled that I got to see her open the necklace at her party. It looks perfect on her. Maybe Kimberly will let me show you a picture of her wearing the necklace.

I have a necklace that I put together that is simple but fun. It is a simple chain with a pendant. I'll take pictures of it and show you soon.

That is it for now. Ta, ta and enjoy your week.

Easy going or just sick?

I think my girls might be enjoying it that I am sick. We have watched WAY too much television and I nearly let Mia bring home anything she picked up today in the grocery. I brought home Fruity Peebles and I NEVER purchase those things. I didn't care much and just wanted to make it through the store and get back home. I'm sure I left a trail of Goldfish crackers in that store (for which I apologize Kroger employees) but hey, it kept them happy, therefore it kept me happy.

In other news I'm working on custom work and will be done with them so and can devote my time to the earring sale coming up. You all have a happy Thursday!

Sick Sisters

What a week we just went through! BOTH girls were sick but I believe they are finally on the mend. Phew. This was not the ordinary cold and fever stuff for them. This virus, or whatever it is/was, packed a punch. I have enough medicine in this house to last the rest of the year! I'm just glad they are starting to feel better and will now be back to their spunky selves.

I snapped this picture the other night while they were on our bed. They both felt so bad and while watching the television, Ashley put her head on Mia's lap and Mia rubbed her head. It was a touching moment considering they don't love on each other much so I was glad I had a camera near to capture it.

Enough about the sick ones. Since things are returning to "normal" I plan on sitting down at the torch this week. I have a few orders to fill and also want to work on a new piece or two to show you. Spring is coming soon and I want to start making things with fun and vibrant colors. Enough of these gray, cloudy skies and drab days. I'm ready for warmer, sunny days, and for little flowers to peek out of the ground. aahhhh. Oh wait, I was talking about jewelry. That's right. I got carried away there. I'll get to some new pieces later this week if all goes well. I have some silver chain here that I purchased a few months ago and I want to make a piece with it so hopefully it will turn out like it looks in my head. HOPEFULLY!

Be Back Later

I woke up this morning and opened my bedroom door to find this WONDERFUL little note posted on my bathroom door frame. :::happy sigh::: I have been doing whatever I want this morning without a care in the world. Mark took the girls out somewhere and they will be back for lunch. So, I'm working on bracelets and watching television but NOT cartoons. I LOVE IT! The house is quiet. ssshhhh....can you hear it? Exactly. Quiet. Okay, back to work.
