Custom Design Stories - 2

Men love to give jewelry.  Thank goodness since women love to receive it also!  A win, win for everyone.  I recently worked with a husband who requested a custom lampwork design for his wife.  It was her birthday and he wanted to have a necklace and earring set for her special day.  We designed this necklace with pastel colors and a hint of blue so that she could wear it with LOTS of things in her closet.

He contacted me after her special day and told me that she loved it and he was so pleased to have a unique gift for her.

This is the part of my business that I LOVE!  Working on custom designs and getting to know my customers and their stories.  I LOVE it!

It is almost time

OpenHouseBanner

Did you forget?  Well this is your reminder that tonight  at 8:00 EST, I’ll put the link up on my website to the open house.  I’ve been working, working, working to get everything ready and I just worked through the night editing photos and building the pages.  Surprisingly, I’m alert!  It could be the coffee!

I’d love for you to come back tonight.  Stop in for a visit online and leave a comment, make a purchase or two or three, or send me an email to let me know you visited.  I’ll be around tonight.

Have a good Monday!

Julie Charm Necklace

I mentioned a few weeks ago that we had a loss in our family.  Julie went to be with the Lord at the age of 33 and she was a woman who touched MANY in her short life.  I heard that she had over 700 attend her memorial service!  What a testament to a life well lived.  In honor of the life Julie lived, two necklaces were created for Julie’s mother and sister as tokens of love and remembrance.  Go here to read more about it.  It was an honor to work on the necklaces!

I have enjoyed the wonderful breeze today.   I have spent quite some time at the computer editing photos and doing other things, and the open window next to me has been divine.  A sweet, gentle breeze is so refreshing.  The birds have been signing away and the sun is just now starting to peek out from behind the clouds.  I believe we will have a beautiful sunset tonight and I plan on going outside to enjoy it before the mosquitoes start to become too thick.  Mosquitoes LOVE  my skin and blood but I don’t care for them AT ALL!

I shall bid adieu for now and will be back tomorrow with more pictures and a video clip if I can figure that out. : )

SPRING is here!

I seem to post on Fridays for some reason. Hmmmm....Oh well. I have been working on custom orders so I don't have many new things in the shop this week to share. Next week I shall. I took a picture of some of my bracelets in a display case at a recent jewelry party. See?

Happy Spring! Isn't it wonderful that Spring is finally here? Love it! It is only going to be 45 degrees today so that isn't very fun, is it? No matter. Spring is here. In honor of this wonderful day, we are going to make paper pom-poms today to hang in the girls' rooms. We always change the things that hang in their rooms to match the seasons, so the snowflakes can come down today. :::phew::: No more snow, hopefully! If they turn out cute, I'll take pictures and put them up to share.
Enjoy your day!

Note To Self...

Note To Self - DO NOT EVER wear pink again when taking photos of jewelry. EVER! I love wearing pink but I have spent quite a bit of time editing photos tonight trying to remove the pink that reflected on the beads in the pictures that I took a few days ago. UGH! I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing. I was thinking about the light, the angle, and trying to keep my one year old from touching the jewelry while I was taking photos. Next time I can guarantee you that I will pay attention to what I'm wearing because I don't want to do THIS again! One of the photos I'm editing is of a bracelet that I made with pearls which I just couldn't resist purchasing when I saw them. I love these pearls and look forward to making a few designs with the remaining pearls. No, it doesn't have any lampwork beads in it so I am going to have to make a separate category for this bracelet but I don't care. I love it and plan on making more without lampwork beads. Jewelry is addictive you know.
